Range: Western Atlantic Ocean: Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean.

Size: 8 inches (20 cm)

Natural Environment: Lives singly or in groups and is found in a wide array of environmental conditions; usually shallow open sandy areas with its base firmly embedded in the sand, and also sometimes found in shady/wall areas.

Aquarium Suitability: A very hardy anemone found in many different colors, e.g., green, neon-green, blue, reddish, golden, and orange, with the oral disc often being a different color than the rest of the body. This carnivorous anemone adapts to a wide variety of lighting conditions, yet is best suited for its own environment, as it will eat or damage almost anything that touches it.

Should be fed meaty foods once or twice a week.

Has spawned in aquaria.
