Range: Indo-West Pacific Ocean: Red Sea, East Africa to Samoan and Tongan Islands, north to Southern Japan, and south to Australia and New Caledonia.
Size: 3 inches (8 cm)
Natural Environment: Inhabits protected lagoons and seaweed areas and usually found between depths of 3 – 25 feet (1 – 8 m) where it mainly feeds upon filamentous algae, diatoms, small crustaceans, and somewhat on fish scales and mucus.
General Husbandry: Not collected for the trade.
