Range: Indo-West Pacific Ocean: East Africa to Line and Society Islands, north to Mariana Islands, and the southern portion of the Great Barrier Reef.

Size: 3 inches (7 cm)

Natural Environment: Inhabits shallow lagoons and sandy reef flats and usually found between depths of 3 – 40 feet (1 – 12 m) where it mainly feeds upon filamentous algae, diatoms, small crustaceans, and somewhat on fish scales and mucus.

General Husbandry: Not collected for the trade.
