Range: Central Pacific Ocean: Endemic to the Hawaiian Islands.

Size: 4 inches (10 cm)

Natural Environment: Inhabits areas above the reef waiting for unwary prey and usually found between depths of 10 – 150 feet (3 – 45 m) where it mainly feeds upon fish scales and mucus.

General Husbandry: Not collected for the trade.
