Range: Western Atlantic Ocean: Florida, Bahamas, and southern Gulf of Mexico to Brazil.
Size: 19 inches (48 cm)
Natural Environment: Inhabits clear waters around coral reefs, sometimes under ledges and usually found at depths between 10 – 150 feet (3 – 45 m) where it feeds on benthic invertebrates, crustaceans, algae/sea weed, sea squirts, urchins, starfishes, cucumbers, crabs, brittle stars, sponges and worms.
General Husbandry: Not normally collected for the trade.
