Range: Indo-West Pacific Ocean: Red Sea and East Africa eastward to Marquesan and Easter Islands, north to Southern Japan, and south to Lord Howe Island.

Size: 3 inches (6 cm)

Natural Environment: Inhabits protected shallow reef flats, lagoons and seaward reefs and usually found at depths between 25 – 100 feet (8 – 30 m) where it feeds during evening hours on crustaceans/zooplankton.

General Husbandry: Has a transparent, somewhat reddish body. As of 2016, not yet purposely collected for the trade.
