Range: Indo-West Pacific Ocean: East Africa to Tonga, north to Japan; Mariana and Caroline Islands in Micronesia, and south to Lord Howe Island.
Size: 5 inches (11 cm)
Natural Environment: Inhabits shallow inshore reefs and river mouths and found among algae and algae covered rocks. Usually found at depths between 3 – 10 feet (1 – 3 m) where it feeds on small fishes and crustaceans during evening hours.
General Husbandry: Has a transparent body. As of 2016, not yet purposely collected for the trade.
