Range: Indo-West Pacific Ocean: Southern Japan south to Australia and New Caledonia and Vanuatu.

Size: 2 inches (4 cm)

Natural Environment: Inhabits sheltered lagoons and reefs, and found near crevices and caves during the day. Usually found at depths between 10 – 200 feet (3 – 60 m) where it feeds on small fishes and crustaceans/zooplankton during evening hours.

General Husbandry: Has a grey body with a central lengthwise coppery black ban edged with white on its top and bottom sides, and a black blotch on the caudal peduncle. As of 2016, not yet purposely collected for the trade.
