Range: Indo-West Pacific Ocean: Red Sea and Persian Gulf and south to East Africa and then east to Samoa and Tonga, north to Southern Japan, and south to northern Australia.

Size: 4 inches (10 cm)

Natural Environment: Inhabits sheltered bays and lagoon patch reefs and usually found at depths between 6 – 200 feet (2 – 60 m) where it feeds on small fishes and crustaceans/zooplankton during evening hours.

General Husbandry: Has a somewhat yellowish to golden coloration often with a black spot on the caudal peduncle. As of 2016, not collected for the trade.
