Range: Central Pacific Ocean: Endemic to Hawaii.

Size: 3 inches (6 cm)

Natural Environment: Inhabits seagrass and heavily algae coated rubble areas and also found in brackish and freshwaters. Usually found at depths between 3 – 50 feet (1 – 15 m) where it feeds on small fishes and crustaceans/zooplankton during evening hours.

General Husbandry: Has a somewhat transparent body, yet can be found in different shades of very pale colors, mottled browns or greens and has three spot at the base of the tail. As of 2016, not collected for the trade.
