Range: Indo-West Pacific Ocean: Red Sea, Oman, Persian Gulf, Kenya, Maldives, east to Samoa, north to Southern Japan, and south to New South Wales.
Size: 3 inches (8 cm)
Natural Environment: Inhabits inshore reefs, lagoons, and estuaries among seagrass and rubble and usually found at depths between 3 – 85 feet (1 – 25 m) where it feeds on crustaceans/zooplankton during evening hours.
General Husbandry: Has a mottled reddish brown body with red on the dorsal fins, tail, and anal fin. As of 2016, not collected for the trade.
