Range: Indo-West Pacific Ocean: Red Sea and East Africa, north to Southern Japan, south to Australia.
Size: 4 inches (11 cm)
Natural Environment: Inhabits protected lagoons, bays, and harbors, and found in caves during the day and usually found at depths between 3 – 130 feet (1 – 40 m) where it feeds on small fishes, crustaceans/zooplankton during evening hours.
General Husbandry: Has a transparent body with numerous dark spots and black on the tail. As of 2016, not purposely collected for the trade.
