Range: Northwest Pacific Ocean: Japan, and south to the China Sea and Taiwan.

Size: 18 inches (45 cm)

Natural Environment: Inhabits rocky reef faces and slopes and usually found at depths between 3 - 50 feet (1 – 15 m) where it sucks up the substrate to feed on various invertebrates.

General Husbandry: Has a white body and head having several slanted tannish orange bands and white spots on the tail. Not collected for the trade.

Has been moved into the Cheilodactylus genus.

Basically a human food fish in local areas.
