Range: Indo-West Pacific Ocean: South Africa to Persian Gulf, Sri Lanka, southern India, Gulf of Thailand, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and south to Queensland, Australia.

Size: 8 inches (20 cm)

Natural Environment: Inhabits sandy and muddy bottom areas in protected lagoons and bays at depths between 6 to 50 feet (2 – 15 m) where it buries itself during daylight hours and feed at night on small fishes and crustaceans.

General Husbandry: Has blotched brownish long thin body. Not purposely collected for the trade.

FYI: Lacks a swim bladder.

Unsuitable for the average home aquarium.
