More

This 'invertebrate' is included here even though they have the name 'fishes' included in their common name. They belong in the Cephalopoda family, as does the octopus, squid, and chambered nautilus. They appear to be highly intelligent, as are octopuses, and can also change their color and texture such as the octopus. They come from a wide range of areas and whatever species is selected; you'll need to know its area of origin so as to know its water temperature requirements.

As do squids, they have ten arms, and eat other fish and crustacean. They can consume large amounts of food and should be housed in large aquariums with a highly oxygenated water supply. Those interested in obtaining captive breed cuttlefish can contact the National Resource Center for Cephalopods.
