Not Suitable for Fish-Only Tank
These fishes belong in the Order Periformes and Suborder Percoidei, where they are members of the Family Echeneidae. There are only three genera, with almost all species unsuitable for the home aquarium. They are found worldwide in tropical and also somewhat subtropical waters. They are large, active swimmers needing lots of open swimming areas. Only one species occasionally makes it into the trade.
